This week we will be wrapping up Chapter 4 on Monday by reviewing your chapter study guide for your unit test on Tuesday. On Wednesday we will begin Chapter 6 and our investigation of polygons. Chapter 6 will be quite a bit different in terms of how we will be taking notes and completing activities. This Wednesday is an Early Release. Have a great week!

This week we will be continuing our endeavor of proving triangles congruent. We will introduce the idea of CPCTC and use properties of Equilateral and Isosceles triangles to further understand congruent triangles. We have several activities to help us with our understanding. We will begin with a quiz over sections 4.5 and 4.6. We will be covering the last two sections of Chapter 4 this week so a test is in the near future. Have a great week, everyone!
This week we are going to continue our study of Chapter 4 and look more specifically at rules we will be able to use to prove two triangles are congruent. We will be completing several constructions using manipulatives in class to help us with this and will spend lots of time practicing using triangle congruence rules. Our week will even begin with an Origami problem. Just a reminder that Wednesday is an Early Release. Have a great week!
Hopefully we can have 5 days of school this week. We will still be working through the tasks that were posted in the "Week of 2/4/19" post below. Have a great week everyone!
Due to our short week and the snow days last week, we will be wrapping up the materials that were posted for last week. See below for more details. :)
Hey everyone! This week we will continue pushing with Chapter 4 and focusing on classifying triangles. You will have a quiz over sections 4-1 and 4-2 on Tuesday. The rest of the week we will spend looking at angle relationships in triangles and how all of the properties of triangles will help us prove triangles are congruent. Remember, your Transformations Project is due on Friday by 3:00 pm. I hope everyone has a great week!
Due to our Ice Days last week we will be wrapping up exams on Monday. Tuesday we will launch Chapter 4 by reviewing some familiar mathematical territory dealing with geometric transformations. Our focus will then shift to classifying triangles and starting to look at triangle congruence. We will end the week with practice problems over these two sections and beginning a quiz. I hope everyone has a great start to second semester. Wednesday is an Early Release this week.
This week we will be wrapping up first semester. We will spend the first couple of days working on your exam review. Remember, you will not be allowed to use notes or class materials on your exam. You will be able to use a half sheet of paper (front and back) with any notes on it that you believe will be useful for your exam. Exam schedule is as follows: Thursday: 1, 3, 5 and Friday: 2, 6, 7. Both days are 1:00 release days.
Welcome to 2019! This week we will begin our "2 Minutes To Win It" exam preparation challenge. Your group will be awarded points based on your responses to the exam review questions we will start class with each day up until exams. We will also be picking up where we left off in Chapter 3. Namely, we will be spending most of this week investigating the slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines and how this relates to what we have been doing with angle pairs and angle relationships. There is an Early Release this Wednesday. Welcome back!
