This week we will be wrapping up our trigonometry unit with a Mini Golf assessment project. You will be responsible for constructing a mini golf hole and using certain aspects of our trigonometry toolkit to solve problems. Wednesday is an Early Release. I hope everyone has a great week!

This week we will begin by correcting your take home quiz from Friday. We are then going to spend a couple of days investigating the inverses of the Sine and Tangent functions and see what will need to be done to allow them to exist. After we spend a bit of time practicing them, we will take a short assessment over these sections before wrapping up Chapter 5 with solving trig functions. I hope everyone has a great week.
Last week we spend a considerable amount of time examining the cosine function and how we were able to limit it's domain to create an inverse of the function. This week we will be spending some doing the same investigations into to the sine and tangent functions. We will begin with a problem solving approach to introducing the Law of Sines and continue our week with
Hopefully we can have 5 days of school this week. We will still be working through the tasks that were posted in the "Week of 2/4/19" post below. Have a great week everyone!
Due to our short week and the snow days last week, we will be wrapping up the materials that were posted for last week. See below for more details. :)
Hey everyone! This week we will wrap up Chapter 4 by investigating phase shifts, vertical shifts, periods and amplitudes of trigonometric functions. We are then going to launch Chapter 5 with some familiar trig properties of right triangles. Our focus will then turn to introducing the Law of Cosines. Could this be useful in finding missing components of non-right triangles. I hope everyone has a great week!
Due to our Ice Days last week we will be wrapping up exams on Monday. Tuesday we will resume Chapter 4 where we left off with the trigonometric functions. Our focus will shift to their graphs and how different aspects of the functions change those graphs. We will end the week with practice problems over these two sections. I hope everyone has a great start to second semester. Wednesday is an Early Release this week.
This week we will be wrapping up first semester. We will spend the first couple of days working on your exam review. Remember, you will not be allowed to use notes or class materials on your exam. You will be able to use a half sheet of paper (front and back) with any notes on it that you believe will be useful for your exam. Exam schedule is as follows: Thursday: 1, 3, 5 and Friday: 2, 6, 7. Both days are 1:00 release days.
Welcome to 2019! This week we will be begin by investigating some Trigonometric Identities. We will then be finding exact values of trig functions using special right triangles. The week will end with a lab where you and your partner will solve a puzzle involving special right triangles. This will help us to fully define and label the unit circle. Your exam for this class next week will consist of a 7 question, short answer response portion as well as a Performance Task you will complete with an assigned partner. Welcome back!
